Art of Dramatic Writing
So we decide to begin a big project in Humanties class. We were going to begin writing our own screenplays! It was very cool project I thought because I use to write alot of stories when I was a kid. We first had to come up with a movie idea, my first movie idea was a zombie movie, but there were already to many so I decide to make a survival horror story. After we came up with the idea, we had to make a treatment, which was a summary split into 3 parts of the movie. It was a like writing story to prepare you for the real screenplay. Later on we learn how to write a screenplay and the format it has to be in, then we started writing. It took us a good amount of weeks to complete the screenplays, but it was worth it. In class we voted the top three per class that had a good chance of being produce into a movie. Before we even made the movies, we decide to show off our screenplays by doing a table read. A table read is when all people included in the movie and helping produce the movie, get together to read the whole screenplay. We did our table reads during Festival Del Sol. So after all that we were ready to begin production! We took 3 sections of 3 screenplays that we voted to make a small movie of. Each movie had it's own team to produce. It's hard work, but fun.
