Tableau For Humanity
"Tableau For Humanity" was a very fun and interesting project we did in our Action Faction team. It was all centered around different causes for the destruction of the human race and human society. We learn about these different causes from many short stories involve overpopulation, technology, war, etc. After reading all these short stories our goal was to create our very own short story (vignette) with our idea of a cause that could lead end the human race. Apart from working on this task, our vignette had to go along with a tableau we had to shoot. A tableau is a "living picture", a carefully planed our picture with models to carry out a message. Overall our group did okay. Writing the vignette at first was a small problem because we didn't really trust each other into taking time to work on the vignette. Over time we all created and gathered ideas to create a vignette. From there we all took each others feedback into account. We worked on it in till we felt it was good for a final product. Our vignette was about suicide. We felt like it was a very powerful topic that we can do much with. Our meaning of the vignette is suppose to show the tragedy of a close ones death and how people replace their life with sadness and tragedy that leads people to end their life. We got this idea from my favorite short story given to us during class. It was about this family who lives in a futurist house. Throughout the whole story these kids don't want to leave this special room where they can imagine anything and make it real. To me it shows how people today replace their life with technology rather than spending time with love ones or enjoying the beauty of nature. It was a very interesting story. Overall I like this project for the deep meaning it had and how it pushed us to think outside the box. It was very fun working with my group and creating these pieces of art.
