For my internship I will be interning at Flyboys Aeroworks. They focus on restoring old vintage war planes for many uses. One of the many many uses is for display at the National World War II Muesuem in New Orleans. It's rank 11th of the best museuems in the world. This site is also unquie because they are also one of the only organization that restores the plane so they can actually fly.
My mentor's name is Rolando X Gutierrez. He's the chief engineer for Flyboys Aeroworks and pretty much the leader. He's a real cool funny guy who ulimately really enjoys what he does at Flyboys Aeroworks.
I don't really have a solid idea of any projects I will be tackling there, but I heard that I might be working on a P-51 Mustang that currently in the works of getting restored. I know for sure that I will working on different airplane parts, so I have to make sure I do a really good job.
I'm really exciting about working on an actual plane that will enventually be displayed in a muesuem. I really like this internship because a lot of the works requires a lot of hands on experience like tools. I also look forward in meeting the whole crew at Flyboys Aeroworks and building an awesome relationship.
One of things I'm really nervous about is dispointing them. I really don't want them to get the wrong image of me and think I'm not hard working at all. I told them that one of biggest things that I'm ready to do is to have the will to learn anything I don't know how to do. I really want this aspect of me to stick out during internship, so I just have to make sure I don't mess up.
