I'm about to finish my first week of internships and so far it's been great. Each day I come in and learn new things like how to use many power tools and what it means to be an aerospace engineer. I want to say that in this first week I've learned a lot! I manage to learn a lot more tools than what I expect and also learned all about Flyboys Aeroworks. Some of the machines and tools I never imagined myself using them.
There are some aspects of internships that really relate to school. You have to the energy to wake up very early and start working very early. I do enjoy how you learn many things, but a lot of it comes from experience rather than a lesson like in school. Also, here at my internship, you are far more independent when it comes to work.
So far the way I been getting to my internship is by using my bike. I ride every morning to my internship site and every afternoon back to my dad's work. It really helps riding a bike in the morning because it wakes me up. It's kind of hard not to wake up when it's 6:45 am in El Cajon where the wind is very cold. The afternoon is a bit more harder because I'm usually tired by the end of the day so it's hard to bike uphill back to my dad's work. But regardless of the bike ride, everything has been great so far.
